MIDI Setup - Cubase ProUpdated 3 months ago
With some configuration, you can use your MIDI controller to change parameters in ToneHub or AmpHub while working in Cubase Pro.
First, make sure that your MIDI device is connected to your system by going to Studio > Studio Setup > MIDI Port Setup and verifying that your controller is recognized by Cubase.
If your controller doesn't appear, click the Reset button, ensuring that the checkboxes for "Visible" and "All MIDI Inputs" are ticked.
Track Setup
Create an Audio Track and insert the VST2 version of your plugin. Create a MIDI Track. On the track inspector, set the MIDI Input to "All MIDI Inputs" or set the input to your specific controller. Next, set the MIDI Output to your plugin. Turn on monitoring for both tracks.
Using MIDI
With everything routed, you can now use the MIDI learn commands as in standalone mode. Simply right click on a parameter or preset you wish to learn, and send a corresponding MIDI CC or PC message.
Once learned, the parameter in the plugin should respond to the assigned MIDI messages. You can edit your mappings in the MIDI Menu.
