Plugin Not Appearing / How to Rescan

1. Make sure that you have downloaded the correct installer for you system.

2. Confirm that your plugin is properly installed to your system's plugin folder.

3. If the plugin is not appearing in Logic or Garageband, perform a rescan. The easiest way is with the "Full AU Reset" option.

Alternatively...

Open Finder, and find the GO  option at the top of your screen. Hold down the option (⌥) key and  LIBRARY should appear in the drop down menu. Click on that to enter your User Library. Open the CACHES folder, and inside that open the AUDIOUNITCACHE folder.

Inside there, delete any of the following files:

com.apple.audiounits.cache

com.apple.audiounits.sandboxed.cache

Doing this will force Logic or Garageband to rescan all of your AU plugins when you restart (it might take a few minutes).

Note: Garageband users may also need to go to the PREFERENCES folder in the User Library and delete the file com.apple.audio.InfoHelper.plist.

4. If the plugin fails validation in Logic:  Open the "Plugin Manager" from within the Preferences menu and type in the associated plugin manufacturer (STL Tones) in the search box. Next, select the plugins that fail validation by holding the Command key (⌘) and clicking. Once the plugins are selected, click "Reset & Rescan Selection" and wait for the validation to complete. This could take several minutes.  Once validation is completed, open a plugin to verify it is working properly on your system.
